“We can’t change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand”
After hearing about Dr. Randy Pausch’s “The Last Lecture” series I was motivated to look it. I found an inspirational and moving lecture about changing lives and achieving our dreams. I wrote an article a few months ago after hearing about it. I heard Dr. Pausch did an updated series of lectures I hadn’t yet seen - in attempting to locate these updated lectures it was how I came across the sad news he had passed away Friday 25 July 2008.

Only knowing what we have when it is gone can we truly realize the value of what we had. It was in seeing his own mortality Randy saw what was important to us all and attempted to convey this message. Why wait to face our own mortality to see what’s important, I implore you all to watch his series “The Last Lecture”. Just not once, but again in a month after you see it to measure if you had changed what is important to you. Realizing what is important is the first step, remembering and never forgetting what is important is the key.
Thank you for your insight Randy, you will be missed. Today we lose a great mind, scholar, hero, and role model.
