About

I’m a 20 something Neurology/Psychology/Sociology Major at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax NS with a passion for technology and ambitions in journalism and education. I want to teach the world what technology can do and promote an interest in science and technology.

I am combining my love of technology with my interest in the human mind. My particular interest is in “digital convergence” (the coming together of digital technologies with everyday life) and how it affects human society. I hope to follow in the footsteps of the great scholars and change the world. The psychosocial impacts of an emerging technology take generations to truly see the impact. Digital technology is in its infancy with years ahead to develop. This, paired with our innate human curiosity will propel us through the 21st century and beyond.

I’ve also been known to jump out of planes, broadcast over the airwaves, and run a marathon from time to time too!

A few of my favorite quotes:

“Einstein regarded time as an illusion. What we experience in time is one concurrent point of awareness. Everyone who ever lived still lives, every song ever recorded still plays. When radio signals are broadcast they go into the cosmos and can be detected years later. In 1963 a women in Texas picked up a TV show from England during sun spot activity. When she wrote back to the station to tell them, someone wrote back and told her the station had been off the air for several years.” (Author Unknown)

“Once social change begins, it cannot be reversed. You cannot uneducate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. We have seen the future, and the future is ours.” (Cesar Chavez)

“What is important is to fulfill one’s own potentials at the highest level possible, whatever one’s endeavor.” (Abram Maslow)
